So my website is up and running! After lots of changes to the layout, pictures and styles, I’m pretty happy with it overall!

I’m now onto the second part of the assignment; the social learner. My task is to think of an event or social situation and then use online technologies to help make this event possible.

I’ve been toying with many different ideas for this task, initially I wanted to do a dinner party and have my guests help plan the menu. I intended to use Taste.com for this, however taste.com is a site I’ve used many times before and I think I need to challenge myself a little more and use a site I haven’t had any experience with.

I’ve now decided I'm going to organise a day out for kids. I want to have something I can actually use and since I work with children I think this is ideal. I've signed up for a diigo account, but was very confused about how to use this. I’ve since watch the info video and understand how to use the site, but I think it’s better used to highlight text and show information on another site so I don’t think I’ll end up using this for my page.

I’m now taking a look at the Meetup page, after reading a suggestion on the LMS discussion board. I like the way I'm able to create a actual page for my event rather than having people click onto another website to have to find all the info. I'm off to explore this option further now...
